Development Groups (Dev Groups) are TCP’s unique off-season baseball workouts that combine traditional and non-traditional methods of training inspired by our work in the Dominican Republic and years of experience at the professional level. Additionally, Dev Groups seek to develop the character of young men by leading them in weekly bible based character lessons taught by our baseball instructors and guest speakers.
A Dev Group session takes place once a week over an 8 week period.

DEV GROUP VALUES
We believe in the value of quality reps when developing baseball skills. Moreover, we believe that reps are most effective when they are done fundamentally correct and in unpredictable game-like scenarios.
We believe that any excerise done incorrectly is negative progress. We train the brain to perform correctly and we can expect the right results at game time. To ensure this, Dev Groups are run by former professional baseball players who are experts in baseball fundamentals.
We believe that players progress the most when they are having fun. In order to make the workout as fun as possible we integrate competitive games into our drills. We find that this method fosters a competative spirit, sportmanship and improved baseball skill.
BIBLICAL CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
We belive the complete player not only accells in the classroom and on the field, but also in his personal character. In light of this, each Dev Group workout devotes time to a bible based character lesson taught by one of our baseball instructors or a guest speaker.
